greenplum是基于超大型DW或OLAP数据库的集群型解决方案，它是基于postgresql开发的；你要是有postgresql数据库的底子，进阶greenplum自是如飞冲天。
greenplum和mysql或者诸多的大型软件一般，也是采用2条脚走路，一为商业版本，二为开源版本。

Pivotal Greenplum 5.x includes all of the functionality in the open source Greenplum Database project and adds:

由上可见，企业版和开源版功能是差不多，不过前者，就是服务更多，功能更全。
建议在生产环境中，可以采用混用策略，即企业版和开源版并用。减少或压缩运维及采购成本。
